To continue the saga, we finished varnishing the fuselage, inside and out,
and then Gene fit the tail on, making sure the cables were strung correctly
before we put the belly skin on.

Fuselage Varnish Fitting the Tail

The aircraft is painted with Feather Fill, to fill in all the imperfections.
Then it is block sanded to reveal the high spots, and feather filled again.
After the last sanding, the raw wood is varnished again to protect it.

The gap between the vertical fin and the fuselage is filled with balsa wood and
sanded down to a wonderful, aerodynamic shape!

New cabin insullation is added, then new wood skin is put on
the inside of the cabin. I like the Tiger Look!

The new wood belly skin is added, complete with inspection holes.
Then the belly is covered with fabric and shrunk up.

After the fabric is on and shrunk, pink Poly-Brush is applied.

After many coats of poly brush, the plane is masked off and
Ken starts shooting many coats of silver.

The wings already had one coat of silver, so after they were done,
we concentrated on the fuselage. Here is is all silver.

The tailwheel is on and lowered to the ground. The doors are fit on the frame.
It sure doesn't look like we got alot accomplished on this day, but it is two steps
forward and one step back. Everything got put on once, then taken off and put on the
correct way!
